Karen Fischer is a native of Birmingham but has made Madison County her home since 2015.  She and her husband live in the Madison Cross Roads school zone and have five grown children and three grandchildren.  In her twenty-eight-year educational career, she has served as a secondary English and history teacher, a high school assistant principal, an instructional assistant principal, and an elementary school principal.  She served as Supervisor of Elementary Instruction for Madison County for three years. Mrs. Fischer has experience as a trainer, a national conference presenter, and event coordinator and has served on numerous committees for accreditation, district planning, and technology integration. 

Mrs. Fischer is a graduate of Birmingham-Southern College and holds advanced degrees in Education from Samford University.
